Gabrielle Self, APC
I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults, grow and thrive so that they can live fulfilling lives. When working with children and teens, I believe meaningful and lasting change happens through collaboration with parents and caregivers to provide supportive high-quality care that empowers children to succeed. Whether your child is struggling with behavioral challenges, emotional regulation, or communication difficulties, my goal is to help them develop healthy coping skills, express themselves effectively, and build confidence in their ability to navigate life's challenges.
For adults, I provide a supportive space for you to work through life’s difficulties, discover your strengths, and develop practical tools to manage problems so that you feel confident and capable when they arise. No matter what you've been through in the past or what challenges you are currently facing, there is hope for you to experience growth and healing. Together, we can create meaningful change that supports your goals to live the fulfilling life that you desire.
About Me: I strive to provide a safe space where you can be yourself and feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgement. When working with children, I utilize play therapy because play is the language of a child, and it allows them to learn, process, and express themselves in a safe and child friendly environment. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and challenge negative or unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that prevent you from living a fulfilling life. Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy that can help individuals process and heal from past traumatic experiences. EMDR is also effective in addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, and other difficulties that may be connected to unresolved experiences. As a Christian, I'm happy to incorporate faith and biblical principles into our work together if that is important to you. I respect each client's beliefs and values and will follow your lead in determining whether and how faith is integrated into the counseling process.
